The Prairie Expanse, 8 x 5.5 feet, acrylic on canvas, 2011 has recently been placed in a private collection. The completed painting blends multiple perspectives to capture the vastness of the prairie landscape.

The Prairie Experience, Elva was created for the Mayberry Gallery art exhibition " A Brush with Life ". The painting measures 4.5 x 12 feet and is created with acrylics on canvas. It represents the accumulated experiences of traveling around Elva, in south western Manitoba.

On Saturday, November 20th an exhibition and sale of new paintings by Randolph Parker opened in Calgary at Masters Gallery. Featured are 15 paintings of the Foothills and Rocky Mountains in a series titled A Brush with Life. Featured with each painting is a photo diary showing the stages of development in the progression of the work of art. About the Artist

Randolph Parker has lived, studied and travelled across Canada, drawing inspiration from images he has seen across the land. He is well known for his panoramic landscape vistas of various regions of Canada. His paintings are rich with colour and texture. Their vast sense of space coupled with lush foreground detail pull the viewer right into the scene. Parker has described his work as "taking a visual journey", a journey he sees as a metaphor for life and its experiences.

Randolph Parker | A Brush With Life

We are happy to announce that after two years, artist Randolph Parker has completed A Brush with Life series of paintings and will be exhibiting them at Mayberry Fine Art. Featuring 15 iconic prairie landscapes, this series represents a special body of work for this west coast-based artist. He has assembled a unique photo diary for each painting and has participated in creating videos of his experience with this series. Parker has long admired the prairies and this sensitive portrait of the expanse of landscape between the Shield and the Rockies shows the prairies' best colours.

In preparation for his two-city exhibition of landscape paintings, which will open simultaneously at Mayberry Fine Art in Winnipeg and Masters Gallery in Calgary on November 20, 2010, Randolph Parker has embarked on an ambitious creative schedule. Entitled “A Brush with Life”, the exhibition will include 40 new works. For the first time in his artistic career, he has presented himself with the additional challenge of creating a photographic record to illustrate the progress of each painting. This record will be presented to the purchaser of each of the 40 paintings, in the form of a book. Hidden Wonders

Hidden Wonders is a new painting created for Mayberry Fine Arts in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It has just been shipped to the gallery and will be presented in the near future. The work measures 36 x 36 inches and is painted using acrylics on canvas. The work is meant to engage the viewer in the complexities of the natural world and simultaneously hint at an abstraction of movement and colour.

A new painting has just been created for the Masters Gallery Ltd in Calgary, Alberta, and is titled " Mistaya ".
The painting measures 38 by 96 inches and is done with acrylics on canvas. It is site specific to a location just north of Lake Louise, Alberta, called Mistaya Lake.

The BAU-XI Gallery Opening

This spring Parker had a wonderful profile written on his life and work by Andrea Rabinovitch which appeared in AQUA Magazine, Spring 2006. The article included a beautifully rendered action photograph of Parker starting a painting by Ken Sakamoto. (Read the text of the article .)
The BAU-XI Gallery in Vancouver had a successful showing of Parker’s most recent paintings titled “ Firsthand Impressions “. The show ran from August 12th - August 26th. It included fifteen new paintings ranging in size from two by two feet to five by five feet.

Beyond the Brush

The book "Beyond the Brush" was launched at the opening of Parker's April art exhibitions. The book included all the paintings from the two art exhibitions along with a number of earlier paintings which reflected some of the transitions in his work. The biography covered the period from his childhood to where he is today. (Read the text of the book.)
On July 9th Parker will be part of the 40th anniversary exhibition of the founding of the BAU-XI Gallery in Vancouver.
The very prestigious Winchester Gallery in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada has now become the dealer for Parkers’ paintings in the city.

The article included five paintings, never seen before, which would be available at his upcoming art exhibitions taking place at the Masters Gallery, Calgary and the Mayberry Gallery in Winnipeg, starting April 9th and 10th respectively.
Success for Parker: The Masters Gallery in Calgary had a sold out opening of Parkers paintings on April 9th. The line up of people who waited at the door were rewarded for their patience with some outstanding paintings. Parkers’ exhibition was the first opening at the Masters Gallery new location. The Mayberry Gallery in Winnipeg had a near sold-out opening on April 10th. Between the two galleries fifty-four of Parkers’ paintings were sold that weekend.
